Educated as a live theater actress she worked in various Austrian theaters as actress, director's assistant and costume designer. She also taught live theater acting.

After moving to Linz in Upper Austria, Karin worked in an advertising agency and as a model to finance her art studies at the University for Design, Masterclass for Visual Arts, where she earned her Masters degree in fine arts.

While working on her thesis, a site specific art project near Giant Rock in Landers, California, she met her husband and fell in love with the desert and decided to take up residence in Joshua Tree, California. She continued a distance education of Journalism at the University of Salzburg, Austria.

In the past Karin exhibited her site specific art projects and collages in Europe.
Most of her work is in private collections.

Currently Karin is exploring reverse glass enamel paintings depicting desert images.
